Dear Green Beauty Consumer, Have you heard the news? Together we did it! We convinced one of the largest cosmetics companies in the world, Johnson & Johnson, makers of Aveeno, Neutrogena, ROC, Clean & Clear, Purpose and Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, to agree to phase out chemicals that can cause cancer and harm our health from its baby AND adult products in 57 countries around the world! Following its commitment last November to phase out 1,4 dioxane and formaldehyde from its baby products, yesterday J&J outlined its commitment to phase out carcinogens including formaldehyde and 1,4 dioxane, and other toxic chemicals linked to birth defects, diabetes, hormone disruption and breast cancer from its adult products, too. While J&J still has some work to do, and we’ll keep working with it to make these changes, this is a big step in the right direction. |
